The Friends are a group of enthusiasts working together to support and promote the Burnie Regional Museum.
Acting Mayor Sandra French said, “Being a Friend of the Burnie Regional Museum is a fun and social way to support the preservation of our local history and heritage.”
The Friends are an active and social group who support the museum by organising activities and events for the public to enjoy.
There is a small subscription fee to become a Friend of the Burnie Regional Museum.
“There are many ways in which anyone can contribute to the museum. Simply by paying a subscription fee, members are helping to raise important funds to support the activities and projects of the museum.
“The benefits are endless too. Friends receive free admission to all exhibitions at the museum. You receive invitations to special events and openings of new exhibitions. Friends receive a 10% discount from the gift shop and on public programs the museum is running. You also receive a membership to the Australian Federation of Friends of Museums, which offers discounts at many other museums and galleries around Australia,” Ald. French said.
