A Stitch in Time… Final days of Exhibition!

Get in quick before this lively exhibition closes on Sunday 9 September. The exhibition is free for people of all ages.

Come explore the ‘reduce, reuse, recycle’ movement and take a closer look at the ‘homemade’, ‘upcycled’ and ‘preloved’ objects in the Burnie Regional Museums textile collection. A Stitch in Time explores the stories of ingenuity and frugality of North-West residents when it comes to clothing their families.

Burnie City Council Mayor Boyd said that this is a “colourful and fascinating exhibition that is a tribute to our communities’ imagination through the decades”.

Don’t miss out on exploring this unique part of the Burnie Regional Museum’s collection. Everything from badges to buttons and bow-ties to breast prostheses are on display. There’s even an enviable collection of lingerie and a fabulous collection of men’s and women’s evening wear spanning the decades. There is something for everyone to see so make sure to drop in and discover the collection before it closes!
