A Stitch in Time

… saves nine! This saying has been given new life with the modern reduce, reuse, recycle movement, bringing a greater appreciation for vintage fashion and the frugality of bygone eras. This is a chance to explore our textile collection and the many ways in which we care for and use these objects to tell local stories.

Exhibition Opening - Friday 4th May - 6.00pm

What treasures lurk in the back of your closet? Do you have one of ‘those’ jumpers, knitted by your grandma or maybe a quirky aunt with lots of cats? This is a chance to show us your best (or worst) bygone era woolly jumper in a safe space (the only judgement here is for the best in show)
